Artist Statement
My artistic practice (english)
My artistry involves the expression of energy through texture, form and colour. My painting pursuit moves between emotion, perception and reflection, as I explore how structure meets spontaineity and control transforms into expression.
It is the qualities of the material and the properties of the paint which dictates the direction of my process. Where the synergy between colour, painting style, the characteristics of the paint and the texture of the surface create an unique semi-abstract visual language. A type of landscape where the painting style itself is as much about the process of painting as it is about our perception of a landscape - its construction and proportions.
My artistry is about capturing a state between emotion and reflection. I create a room or a world where one is unable to retain access, a place which awakens curiosity as to what lays in, behind or beyond that which one perceives.
Mitt konstnärskap (svenska)
Mitt konstnärskap handlar om att uttrycka en energi genom textur, form och färg, där materialet rör sig mellan känsla, inlevelse och reflektion. Jag utforskar hur struktur möter spontanitet och kontroll övergår till expressionism.
Det är materialets och färgens egenskaper som dikterar i vilken riktning jag tar under min arbetsprocess, där synergin mellan stil, färgens kvaliteter och underlagets textur bildar ett semi-abstrakt bildspråk. En typ av landskap som handlar lika mycket om materialets natur och egen process som vår föreställning av ett landskap, dess konstruktion och proportioner.
Mitt måleri handlar om att fånga ett tillstånd mellan känsla och reflektion. Jag skapar ett rum eller en värld man inte har tillträde till. En plats som väcker nyfikenhet om vad som finns i, bakom eller bortom det betraktaren ser.
